Handicap Bathroom Signs for Facilities
Consider the paths of travel if you were navigating your own premises in a wheelchair. Signage is critical because it helps to identify spaces, rooms, and paths (or modes) of travel that make it easiest, or at least possible for those with disabilities to use the building. Some restrooms may be handicap accessible while others are not. This may mean nothing to many people, but to someone who is forced to bypass a non–accessible restroom and just keep looking, it can be a critical communication failure. Give your guests the advantage from everywhere in your building of being able to locate the handicap accessible bathrooms with signs to help identify and then direct them towards those restrooms that are accessible. The signs themselves must follow an industry standard as far as font and image, so stick with the professionals, no matter how terrific you think your freehand sketching ability might be. |
