According to 3 RCNY §§. 505-01, new requirements for apartment and guest room identification signs, directional markings and exit signs, and are now in place within NYC. Luckily, our in-house INTERSIGN regulation compliance team has pored through the legal requirements to ensure that these signs adhere to the new rules.

Furthermore, according to new accessibility legislation A.8193 and S.6846, the International Symbol of Accessibility is required to be changed to an image showing a person seated in a wheelchair while appearing to be in motion. The laws also state that the word “Handicapped” needs to be removed on any signs, with the word “Accessible” in its place. Our restroom and room numbers are NY ISA-compliant and feature Dynamic Accessibility Symbols.
